The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo
The Q Revo is an excellent option if you're seeking a robot vacuum and mop that is priced in the middle. It gives a great mopping experience, but it lacks the features that make up its more expensive sibling.
During testing it was able to tackle dry oats and dust on carpets of medium pile and pet hair on hard floors. It does not use LIDAR however, like cheaper models do to identify your home.
1. Roomba S9+ from iRobot
The iRobot Roomba S9+ is one of the top-rated robot vacuums. It has a lot of features and impressive cleaning power, including a dirt compartment that is integrated into the charging base. The robot also learns your habits of cleaning and suggest schedules that are automatic to ensure you have a hands-free experience.
The setup process is simple thanks to the iRobot Home app that walks you through the process. Once everything is connected, you can start the automatic cleaning functions at the push of one button. You can choose an overall clean which focuses on the elimination of larger particles like rice and cereal. You can also choose two mappings to ensure that your entire home is thoroughly cleaned.
This robot vacuum is effective on floors that are unfinished and carpets with low pile. It is able to take large objects and doesn't lose suction as quickly as some other models and can clean up pet hair without difficulty. It's a challenge with carpets that are high-pile or plush however iRobot claims that future models will be better.
The S9+ is a new design from iRobot that concentrates on improving the edge and corner cleaning. It's the first Roomba to adopt an open-fronted, flat-fronted design, which will allow it to fit into furniture and walls. It's a step up from the hockey puck-shaped robovacs that are common, but we found it only marginally better than circular models.
iRobot claims that the S9+ also comes with an advanced filtration system which blocks micro-sized particles and allergens from circulating throughout your home. It's a nice claim however, we're not convinced that it's enough to justify the premium price price.
Its smart navigation system uses sensors that remember your home's layout and vSLAM technology to map your interior. This allows it to stay clear of obstacles, like stairs and other barriers, and to clean up your entire house efficiently possible. The iRobot Home app lets you control the robot and schedule cleaning times, as well as create virtual boundary markers, so that it is aware of areas that require more attention.
2. Roborock Q Revo
When it is about robots that combine vacuuming and mopping, the Roborock Q Revo is a standout. Its vacuum settings are as effective as those found on more expensive models. And its mopping system is even better - its spinning pads scrub your floors much more effectively than the vibrating pads.
The only issue is the absence of a second brush for more thorough cleaning. But that's not a big deal for those who want to own one of the best robots available. The dust tank on the robo-vac is larger than its competitors and filling it up takes only two or three times, even when you've got a lot of dirt.
In terms of the mopping system, I was amazed by its ability to scrub hard dirt off my floors. The two mopping modes that it has that are less abrasive than the more powerful ones, generate little noise, allowing you to work or watch TV without distraction. If it comes into contact with the wall or a furniture piece, it gently bumps into it and then moves on.
The Q Revo is unique in that it can run almost autonomously, with little user involvement. The robo-vac features a multi-function dock that automatically moves physical trash to the bin hidden in the background, as well as washes and drys the mop pads and refills its clean water tank. The app will only alert you if something is wrong like a low clean water tank or a cancelled vacuuming session due to the bin being full.
You can also create or combine rooms to customize the way that Q Revo manages your home. This feature is useful if you have different flooring in different areas of your house or in the event that you have to regularly remove clutter, such as clothes, toys and books. The robot vacuum was also among the best performers in my test and was able to remove debris from carpets and hardwood floors in the first pass. It can vacuum up even wet spills. I recommend drying the area with a towel prior to sending it into.
3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni has all of the features you'd expect from a premium robot vacuum and mop combo and more. It has the ability to rotate mops and a powerful vacuum that can clean carpets and hard floors. It's akin to the iRobot Roomba S9+. It also comes with self-cleaning bases that automatically empty and cleans mop pads, keeping them germ-free and ready for use again. It also features a new sensor system that is able to better detects obstacles, giving it the ability to prevent falling over furniture or other objects.
The most notable improvement to the ECOVACS X1 Deebot is its sleeker, modern design. This is thanks to the Danish company Jacob Jensen Design, best known for their Bang & Olufsen product line. The robot is still big. It is more than two feet in both height and depth, and weighs in at least four pounds. However the robot as well as its base are smaller than the Roborock Q Revo and iRobot j7.
This model is more efficient than the X1 because it charges more quickly and can clean up 1,500 square feet in one charge. It also has a bigger dustbin that is more durable and can hold more debris, making it easier to empty when needed.
Finally lastly, the X2 Omni has a more intuitive app and a voice assistant that works offline, so you can manage it even when away from home. It also comes with additional mopping modes as well as a smart routing feature that allows you to clean certain rooms or areas of your home instead of just following a specific route.
The Omni X2 Omni is the most effective mopping performance of any robot we've tested due to its mop pads that rotate to clean tough stains away and a motor that generates plenty of downward pressure. The vacuuming capabilities are also excellent, and it increases suction when it senses carpets to ensure thorough cleaning. It also has a huge battery that can last for weeks between charges and its mopping mode is as powerful as any we've seen in an ordinary robot.
4. Dreametech L10s Ultra
The Dreametech L10s Ultra robot mop and vacuum is a premium model that offers a number of features that aren't often found on robots in this price range. It has the ability to create detailed floor maps, detect different flooring types and is among the few to automatically wash and dry the mop pads. But while these functions are useful but they also make the L10s Ultra more in the category of luxury and could mean it's slightly more expensive than what some homeowners require.
The L10s Ultra looks like a modern floor cleaner. It's tall and slim with a white finish that is complemented by silver elements and mirror plating. The front of the machine is dominated by a huge bumper, which helps protect furniture and the vacuum from damage when moving through the home. Behind the pane at the front is a second navigation technology that is comprised of sensors that aid the L10s Ultra navigate around tight corners and avoid obstacles.
On the top of the vacuum there is a single button that is used as an on/off switch. This button will activate the vacuum. If you click it again, it will shut it off and send it to its base station. The circular menu at the center of the control panel lets you to choose cleaning modes, schedules and preferences. The left and right buttons will allow you to access the settings in the app, where you can customize how the L10s Ultra interacts with your home.
Like the iRobot Roomba S9+ and Roborock Q Revo, the L10s Ultra uses a combination of LIDAR and camera-based navigation techniques to read on help you map out your home. This produces a precise floor plan that allows the robot vacuum and mop effectively, without getting stuck in cluttered areas. The LIDAR helps the robot vacuum avoid obstacles and recognize them as obstacles, which is an excellent feature for homes with pets or children.
The L10s Ultra is a powerful vacuum cleaner that removes 98.4 percent of debris from our test on hardwood floors and removing all but stubborn juice staining. Its mops are also quite efficient, taking away 98.4% of debris on our tile, wood, and carpet tests. However, it wasn't as efficient in dealing with sand on the floor, or quaker oats on the carpet.
